Al Jazira distributes limited-edition shirts to front-line workers

Al Jazira recognizes the vital role frontline workers across Abu Dhabi play by working with partners Healthpoint, ADNOC and Al Ain Farms to distribute exclusive limited edition kits to a group of happy recipients.

The jerseys were worn during the opening games of the 2020/21 season as part of the innovative partnership of the global sports manufacturer PUMA. The limited-edition design was featured in three Arabian Gulf Cup games against Ittihad Kalba, Al Nasr and Al Dhafra before the club’s main kit was launched.

The Pride of Abu Dhabi works with its key club partners to select the lucky recipients for these unique sporting memorabilia. It’s the club’s most recent collaborative initiative related to Covid, currently at the top of the table with only three games left.

Commenting on the initiative, Al Jazira’s Group Chief Executive Officer Ali Youssif Al Hammadi said: “The Al Jazira Club knows its role in the Abu Dhabi community all too well and knows how grateful everyone is for the tireless bravery of our city’s frontline workers.

“We are the pride of Abu Dhabi for a reason, a club at the heart of a wonderful community with a unique connection between our fans, our players and coaches and of course our club’s partners.

“Our partnership with PUMA has allowed us to start the season with a limited edition kit. We are excited to donate these unique sporting memorabilia to those in town who deserve them most.”

The club works with its key partners to ensure that recipients are most worthy. The partners involved – Healthpoint, ADNOC and Al Ain Farms – work closely with the club throughout the season to develop a variety of community-level initiatives.

The club’s top goalscorer Ali Mabkhout said: “This is a great initiative by the club and I cannot think of better recipients for the PUMA limited edition kits.

“We will forever be indebted to the bravery of those who work on the front lines. I’m proud that the club decided to give these limited edition kits to these heroes and give them a token of our appreciation for everything they do. “

The club recently launched a vaccination campaign in collaboration with main partner Mubadala as part of the Ministry of Health and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center to curb the spread of Covid-19. Players and staff received their vaccine dose at Healthpoint, one of Mubadala Health’s integrated networks of world-class healthcare providers.

With three games remaining in the UAE’s Pro League season, Al Jazira are at the top of the table, one point ahead of Bani Yas in second and seven ahead of third-placed Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club.
