A total of 17 Al Jazira first team players received the Covid-19 vaccine at Healthpoint, a partner of Mubadala Health.
The introduction of vaccination came as part of Pride of Abu Dhabi’s ongoing social responsibility efforts and the UAE nationwide campaign to encourage members of the community to receive their vaccinations.
Commenting on participating in the campaign, Al Yazira Chairman Ali Youssif Al Hammadi said: “Al Jazira is an important part of the community in Abu Dhabi and across the country. Each of us in the club recognizes this reputation and takes on the associated responsibility towards our society. That is why we chose this initiative and participated in the national initiative to fight the pandemic and restore normal life and sport. “
First-team player Ali Mabkhout commented, “We are fully aware of our responsibility as role models and athletes that the community looks up to, especially when it comes to health and wellbeing. As one of the first to take the vaccine, we wanted to send a clear message to our members of society about the importance of getting vaccinated for them, their families and communities, and the importance of continuing to follow the vaccine health protocols. “
“Being healthy and healthy athletes does not mean that we can treat the pandemic differently from everyone else. Individual health is an integral part of the collective health of society, and vaccinations are the only way to overcome difficult times in the world. I decided to have a vaccination and I urge everyone to do the same as soon as they can. “
From Healthpoints side, the medical director Dr. Mai Ahmed Al Jaber added: “Mubadala Health has proactively supported the national vaccination program from the start, making vaccines as accessible as possible for patients and stand-alone vaccination booths by using its facilities. Like all Mubadala Health providers, we at Healthpoint are focused on improving health in the community and are excited to be working with our partner Al Jazira Football Club to raise awareness of the importance of widespread vaccination. We urge all eligible citizens and residents to take this safe and effective measure to protect themselves and reduce the spread and impact of Covid-19 in our communities. “
The club’s vaccination campaign was carried out in collaboration with lead partner Mubadala Health and is part of the Ministry of Health and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center to curb the spread of Covid-19 and restore health and safety to communities. Players received their first dose of their vaccines at Healthpoint, one of Mubadala Health’s integrated networks of world-class healthcare providers.
The vaccination is now available to all UAE citizens and residents over the age of 16, provided they book an appointment by calling 800 4959 or [email protected].
