Beirut team wins Dubai’s 2021 Lebanese Expats Basketball Championship


Winner: Beirut Team

The Beirut team won the first Lebanese expat basketball championship in Dubai.

Beirut and Byblos took part in the finals of the tournament organized by Sports Mania UAE under the supervision of the Dubai Sports Council and the UAE Basketball Federation.

In an exciting game at the Al Wasl Sports Club, both teams fought until the last minute of the game. Team Beirut achieved a three-point victory against Byblos with a final score of 83 – 80. Both teams showed great basketball level, high team spirit and sportiness.

Second place: Byblos was second

The champions won 10,000 AED cash prizes and 10,000 AED vouchers from Decathlon.

Some of the participants in the game were Lebanese basketball legend Fadi El Khatib, sports analyst at Dubai Sports TV, Mr. Ashraf Samara, founder of High Five, Mr. Bahi Rifai, CEO of Sport360, Mr. Bassam Nawfal, and veteran basketball player, Ms. Lodie Geagea.

Individual awards:

– MVP of the last game: Tarek Kharasan from the Beirut team

– Top scorer: Rawad Rahme from the Byblos team

– Best 3-point shooter: Michel Hakim from the Zahle team

– Best rebounder: Will Bechara from the Byblos team

– Best assistant: Ahmad Tartoussi from the Byblos team

– Best stealer: Johnny Nemer from the Beirut team

– Best shot blocker: Will Bechara from the Byblos team

– Best defender: Albert Zeinoun from the Beirut team

– Best team spirit: tire team

– MVP of the championship: Johnny Nemer from the Beirut team
