Brian Laundrie: Police drone flies over Carlton Reserve as activity picks up

Gabby Petito’s body was found about five minutes from where the couple’s van was sighted, her family said.

Her stepfather, Jim Schmidt, said there was clear evidence that a tent was set up and a fire was lit next to the makeshift grave that housed her remains.

During the interview on the show by Dr. Phil McGraw also told Ms. Petito’s family that they hoped Brian Laundrie would be found alive.

Her father, Joseph Petito, said he wanted Mr. Laundrie to see inside a prison cell for the rest of his life. Mr. Laundrie was not charged with the death of Ms. Petito.

Police activity on the Carlton reservation increased after several days of reduced searches. Mr Laundrie is believed to have hiked the nature reserve on September 13 and has been missing since then.

Jim Schmidt, who joined the Wyoming search for Gabby Petito, heard new details about the location in the Bridger-Teton National Forest where his stepdaughter’s remains were found.

He said there was clear evidence that a tent was set up and a fire was lit near the makeshift grave where her remains were located.

The site was about a five-minute walk from where the couple’s van was discovered by a YouTuber on Aug. 27.

Wanderer who interviewed Brian Laundrie from the FBI

The FBI reportedly interviewed hiker Dennis Davis, who said he was “99.9 percent” sure he saw Brian Laundrie along the Appalachian Trail near the North Carolina and Tennessee border.

Mr Davis was interviewed by the FBI on Wednesday, four days after giving interviews to several U.S. news agencies describing the moment he believed he saw Mr Laundrie – earlier that day on Saturday.

He said that Daily mail that “they definitely take my information seriously”.

The FBI is also investigating at least 11 other suspected sightings of Mr. Laundrie.

Brian Laundrie flew during his road trip with Gabby Petito on Jan.

Mr. Bertolino said Mr. Laundrie returned to Utah on August 23 – just four days before Petito was last seen.

The attorney said Petito and Mr. Laundrie were planning to extend their road trip, so he flew home to get supplies and shut down a storage unit to save money.

Mr. Laundrie returned to Florida shortly after the August 12 incident in Moab in which Gabby Petito told the police officer that her boyfriend had beaten her.

Petito was last seen on August 27th. Her body was later found in Wyoming. The FBI labeled her a murder victim but did not disclose the exact cause of death.

Remains of a recently used campsite in the Carlton Reserve

In a new twist, police found the remains of a recently used campground in Carlton Reserve – where law enforcement believes Brian Laundrie is hiding – a source close to the family, which CNN told CNN.

The Carlton reservation has been the focus of the manhunt for Mr. Laundrie for two weeks.

The reserve has also been closed to the public.

Mr Laundrie is also under federal arrest warrant for illegally using Gabby Petito’s debit card.

Previously, Mr Laundrie’s father, Chris Laundrie, was asked to help law enforcement agencies find his son on the reservation, lawyer Steven Bertolino said.

Brian Laundrie’s father, Christopher Laundrie, searched the Carlton Reservation on his own on September 13 – days before his parents reported him missing.

Steven Bertolino, the attorney who represents Mr Laundrie’s parents, said earlier in the day the father had been asked to help law enforcement agencies find his son on the Carlton reservation.

There was a sudden surge in police activity at Carlton Reserve on Wednesday. The police have been looking for Mr. Laundrie for two weeks.

The FBI took control of the search last week and scaled back the search on the reservation.

Brian Laundrie’s father is expected to join the Carlton Reserve search, attorney claims

Steven Bertolino, the attorney representing Brian Laundrie’s parents, announced Wednesday that father Chris Laundrie had been “called on to assist law enforcement in finding” his son at Carlton Reserve.

He added, “Since the reservation was closed to the public, Chris hasn’t been able to look for Brian in the only place Chris and Roberta believe Brian could be.”

Josh Taylor, the chief spokesman for the North Port Police Department, said: Fox News that his department was not involved in requesting the father’s involvement.

He said, “In no world would we be the agency asking the family to help find an FBI-led investigation.”

Bertolino later made it clear that the request “maybe” came from “a connection with the FBI”.

Gabby Petito’s mother “angry” after listening to 911

Gabby Petito’s mother described the moment she first heard a 911 call with an eyewitness describing Brian Laundrie beating her daughter days before she disappeared.

Nichole Schmidt told Dr. Phil said she was upset and confused about why no more was being done to help her daughter when police pulled up the couple’s van near Moab, Utah, on Aug. 12.

“I was angry because it didn’t make sense,” said Ms. Schmidt.

Bodycam footage shows Ms. Petito telling officers how Mr. Laundrie repeatedly told her to “shut up” and then grabbed her face and left her with scratches on her cheeks.

Gabby Petito’s parents want Brian Laundrie to be found alive so that he can spend the rest of his life in a “concrete cell”.

The Petito family are convinced that Mr. Laundrie is still alive and refer to him as a “coward” for failing to make himself public.

In part two of her interview with Dr. Phil, which aired on CBS Wednesday afternoon, told Ms. Petito’s mother, Nichole Schmidt, she wanted to confront the missing 23-year-old.

“I want to look him in the eye.”

Ms. Petito’s father, Joseph Petito, added, “I just hope he is found alive.

“I want to see him in a prison cell for the rest of his life. He is an outdoor man. To be in this concrete cell where he can’t go and … see these trees and smell the fresh air. “
