The 18th round of the Fantasy Premier League brings with it the first big empty game week of the season.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester City and Leeds United are inactive for this playgroup.
Manchester City and Arsenal have a nice home game against Brighton and Crystal Palace.
Manchester United travel to Burnley and Tottenham host Fulham.
Here are some tips to guide you through BGW18.
CAPTAIN – KEVIN DE BRUYNE | MAN CITY | 11.7M.
Kevin De Bruyne may have started the FA Cup win over Birmingham City, but with the competition decided at halftime, this is not the second time he has appeared.
Hence, there shouldn’t be any freshness concern with Pep Guardiola’s team playing a fighting Brighton outfit at home. City have quietly kept pace with Liverpool at the top and now look in the best position to pounce on more championship slip-ups and collect a title fee.
De Bruyne’s most recent form has been a driving force, having scored one goal and two assists in the last three GWs. He also has the biggest chances (6) in the last six GWs and should be able to take advantage of Brighton’s vulnerability to set pieces.
BRUNO FERNANDES (11.3 m) was a force of nature outside of home and this time travels to Burnley. It has the most double-digit routes this season and three in the last four GWs.
CALLUM WILSON (6.5 m) has been quiet lately and a tired Newcastle side struggled to cope with a difficult run of the games. Those games are now wearing off, however, and he still has eight goals and four assists this season and Sheffield has yet to concede one goal this season.
TO GET ONE
RAHEEM STERLIN | MAN CITY | 11.4 million
Raheem Sterling was not called to the squad to face Birmingham with a minor fitness problem. The Englishman should be fine for visiting Brighton, however. It has returns in each of the last four GWs, differential and twice in GW19.
ONE TO AVOID
CHARLIE TAYLOR | BURNLEY | 4.6M.
Charlie Taylor has served FPL managers well this season but hobbled from the last game with a hamstring injury. He remains a doubt for the next couple of games and may not be worth holding beyond that as he has tough games until GW23.
EMILE ROWE SMITH | ARSENAL | 4.4 million
It is no coincidence that Mikel Arteta’s arsenal started to click when Emile Smith Rowe started as number 10. The youngster has made a real impact on the games and has three assists in the last three GWs. He even got off the bench and scored against Newcastle in the FA Cup.
