According to ABC News, veteran CNN broadcaster and talk show host 87 is being treated for coronavirus in a Los Angeles hospital.
“Larry has battled so many health problems in the past few years and he’s also fought hard against this problem, he’s a champ,” a source close to the family told the network.
According to CNN, Mr. King has been treated at the city’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for more than a week.
Mr. King, who hosted Larry King Live on CNN for 25 years and began his media career on radio, has had a number of medical problems over the years.
In 2017, he announced that he had been treated for lung cancer and had a serious heart attack in 1987.
Mr. King also underwent angioplasty in April 2019 and suffered a stroke in 2020.
His more than 10-day hospital stay was first featured on the Showbiz 411 website by Roger Friedman.
Mr. King is about to divorce Ms. Shawn King, but neither she nor her two sons Chance and Cannon are reportedly able to visit Mr. King in the hospital.
The station lost two children in 2020, 65-year-old son Andy to a heart attack and 51-year-old daughter Chaia to lung cancer.
He has a third son, Larry King Jr., from his brief marriage to his second wife, Annette Kaye.
An estimated 20.2 million Americans have now tested positive for Covid and more than 348,000 have died from the virus.
Mr. King’s representatives have not yet made any comments.
