The Lotus Evija hypercar has returned to the Middle East for a month-long tour of the region.
The supercar previously visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi in September 2019 as part of a world tour that included North America, Japan and China. With the ability to cut the Evija – the world’s most powerful production car – in 2020 due to travel restrictions, Lotus has brought it back to the Middle East for the month of March.
In close cooperation with the retail partner Adamas Motors, the Evija will appear as a breathtaking centerpiece at the opening of the new Lotus showroom in Dubai.
The car will not only be on display in the new Lotus Dubai Showroom, but also in the Lotus Showroom in Abu Dhabi and in the brand new facility in Bahrain.
The Lotus Evija will be in Dubai from March 1st to 9th before moving to Abu Dhabi from March 10th to 15th and to Manama, Bahrain from March 24th to 31st.
Jonathan Stretton, Regional Director of Lotus Middle East, commented, “We are excited to bring the Lotus Evija hypercar back to the Middle East with the support of our retail partner Adamas Motors. This is the perfect way for us to celebrate the opening of the new Lotus retail store in Dubai. “
He added: “The passion for high-performance cars in the Gulf States is well known and the interest in Evija is a testament to the power and awareness of the Lotus brand and the commitment of customers to take the step towards electrification.”
Karl Hamer, CEO of the Adamas Group, commented: “We are very honored that Evija is returning to the UAE in time for the opening of our wonderful new Lotus Car Showroom in Dubai. The Evija is just the beginning of what the future will bring for Lotus Cars, and we at Adamas Motors are extremely excited about the journey ahead. With the opening of our wonderful showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, the building extends over 30,000 m² and also houses our headquarters, the Lotus showroom, the café, the boutique and a nice relaxation area for customers. “
He continued, “What a beautiful place to host one of the high performance hypercars and I am very excited to be welcoming our customers and potential Evija prospects to both the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain over the next few weeks. This development is based on our success in Hong Kong and the next development stage for our multi-franchise business in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will house Lotus Cars, Aston Martin, Morgan Motors and another high-end franchise in the Moda Fashion Parade Mall / Bahrain International Financial Center. We are so proud to share this trip with everyone. “
Lotus Dubai’s new showroom is located on Sheikh Zayed Road – less than a mile from the original outlet on the same street – but offers significantly more space and options.
The all-electric hypercar is a bold letter of intent from the legendary British performance car company. It has over 2,000 horsepower and an astonishing 300 km / h (0-186 mph) time in less than nine seconds.
Lotus Cars builds first-class high-performance sports cars, including the Evora, Elise and Exige series. In July 2019, it launched the Evija, the world’s first fully electric British hypercar. Production will start in 2021.
