Nine people are dead following a van crash in a largely Indigenous area on Mexico's Caribbean coast
MEXICO CITY (AP) — 9 folks died Monday in a van crash on a freeway in a largely Indigenous space on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, authorities mentioned.
Prosecutors within the coastal state of Quintana Roo mentioned that the van carrying the victims apparently collided with a truck.
The crash occurred early Monday in an space about 75 miles (120 kilometers) south of the resort of Tulum.
The van burst into flames after the collision. One other six folks, all apparently passengers aboard the van, suffered severe accidents. The lifeless included three minors.
Vans are the most typical type of public transport among the many largely Mayan Indigenous cities within the space. As a result of the world is a long way from the coast, and the shoreline there may be primarily mangroves and wetlands, vacationers not often go to the world. Officers mentioned all of the victims seemed to be native residents.
