Biden says he'll stop sending offensive weapons to Israel if it invades Rafah
(The Hill) — President Biden on Wednesday warned he would cease supplying Israel with offensive weapons like bombs and artillery shells if Israeli forces launch an invasion of Rafah, laying down a transparent line amid outcry over the battle in Gaza.
“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of these bombs and different methods wherein they go after inhabitants facilities,” Biden advised CNN’s Erin Burnett in an interview.
“I made it clear that in the event that they go into Rafah — they haven’t gone in Rafah but — in the event that they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons which were used traditionally to cope with Rafah, to cope with the cities — that cope with that drawback,” Biden added.
